The L.J. (Bonanza T.V. Series 1959-Season 3)

As Ben Cartwright's third son, young and fun loving "Little" Joe embodied charisma and confidence. But, his boyish charm easily turns into his impetuous and often mischievous behavior often leading to confrontation with his older brothers. Perhaps it's the fiery Cajun spirit that drives Joe to look for trouble. As the youngest and smallest of the Cartwright sons, Joe is often motivated to prove himself to his father and brothers.  He made up for his short stature with his long confident strides, hat pushed back as he looked straight into danger. Michael Landon portrayed Joe Cartwright for the entire run of the series and eventually writing and directing a number of episodes before the show's conclusion in 1973. 

Inspired by the hat worn by Michael Landon in season 3 of “Bonanza”. This is the light tan hat that Little Joe worn throughout the third and following seasons of the show, with only minor changes in the last seasons. For information about his hat from season 1 please email us: mail@baronhats.com
