Baron Hats takes enormous pride in the quality and craftsmanship of their hats, and have for over five decades worked like the dickens to create a “legendary” reputation. And our hats
go through a hyper scrupulous, and some say, slightly insane inspection and re-inspection before we will let a “Baron Hat” leave the shop on its way to your awaiting head. |
But we are also painfully aware that a hat is only as good as the “house” it lives in! And since we see our hats as our children, we know that no matter how well we “bring it up”, someday it does have to stand the test of the outside world which, alas, like parents, we have no control over! Since most of our work is shipped out of state, and around the world, we have, through the years, developed a very special method to packing your hats, so that even the most sadistic hat-hating delivery man can inflict everything he’s got in his deadly arsenal on our specially created hat-shipping-boxes, and your hat will remain in the same perfect condition it was when it left our shop! So, when you buy a Baron Hat… and that means any hat that
comes from us… you are treated to our famous
“Six Step Perfectionist Packing Method ™”
- STEP 1 - CUSTOM HAT BOX IS SELECTED
We select the perfect shipper-hat-box for your hat from our three sizes. All our famous boxes, with the
Baron Hats Logo were custom made to our specifications of ultra-heavy-duty double-walled corrugated “carton serré” material, which not only will withstand the rigors of shipping anywhere in the world, but then becomes your permanent hatbox. |
- STEP 2: “HAT SEAT” IS MOLDED

Once we selected the perfect size
hatbox for shipping, we place your hat into the box, then adjust
the interior “Hat Seat” to the exact size of your hat’s
crown, readjusting it until the hat fits snuggly inside. We then
insert special packing tissues under the adjusted “Hat Seat”
for further protection |

STEP 3. HAND-FORMED PLASTIC COVERING
The hat is
protected all around with a special plastic material which is
carefully hand-formed around the hat with our exclusive shaping-loop
to insure a perfect water and air-tight protective covering..
- STEP 4: OUR EXCLUSIVE “SPONGE DONUT”

Once
the entire hat is hand-formed in plastic, a specially made
“sponge doughnut” is inserted over the crown, both to
protect its shape and styling, but also to protect the hatband,
and to keep the hat securely nestled in the “Hat Seat”. |

Once
your hat is seated, a second protective anti-static plastic packing
bag is wrapped around the entire hat, and then additional anti-lint
tissue is placed over the entire interior and secured.

- STEP 6: FINAL INSPECTION
After the
hatbox is closed and secured, we make a final inspection to “feel”
the hat inside the box and make sure it is seated properly for
shipping, and also make sure the entire box totally secured all
around. We also check the built-in handle for strength and
reliability. All our hats are insured for that extra added “care”
by our shippers.
Remember that the hat-box your hat is
shipped in, has been custom fitted for your special purchase, and you should
use it as your hat storage box to keep the hat in perfect condition for
years and years to come!
