From the moment you hear Jerry Fielding's jaunty fife
and drum score, you know you are in for
something very different in an Eastwood film! Though
this western classic starts out as your basic
"one-man's-vengeance-against-the-world" movie, "The
Outlaw Josey Wales", thanks to a large part to
Philip Kaufman's ("The Right Stuff", "The
Wanderers", "The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid")
deeply moving and original screenplay, becomes
something much more. In Josey Wales journey of
revenge, he finds instead, redemption, and a new
appreciation and understanding of this precious
thing called "life". This was a departure for
Eastwood, and "Outlaw" began his methodical
move away from violence for violence sake and more
towards themes of forgiveness and compassion. And
never before was there such a grand celebration of
the Indian as real live human being and not just a
cutout "target" in some amusement park shooting
gallery arcade (Eastwood always had a respect for
the American Indian, and in fact, never killed an
Indian in any film he ever made). And where have you
seen a movie where Chief Dan George gets more girls
than Eastwood?!

Confederate Gray, and include the original military

sweatband, silk-satin lining, our Lifetime Guarantee,
and a Certificate of Authenticity. The hat is made
"new". If you would like to have it "aged"
with our special patented process (as seen the the

aging does not effect the integrity of the fur and
is the same process we use on all our movie hats.
