"There's an old adage: "The shoemaker's children go barefoot". In the craft world, there is some truth to that! A lot of the Baron Hat family have wanted their own custom made hats for years, but frankly we get so busy, and are always fighting deadlines, that crafting hats for our own always seems to take a back seat! The interesting part is, when asked of all the hats in the world, what would they like, the answer seems to be, more times than not: "Sean Connery's awesome wide brim hat from "League of Extraordinary Gentleman!"
 

Recently, Baron's Master Hatter and Owner, Mark Mejia, felt so bad about not being able to give his partners and fellow craftsmen custom hats, that he came in on four consecutive Sundays, just to make the hats! And, most were made as wished: the hat inspired by Connery's beauty, which we called "The Extraordinary". Made in the original 200XXX 100% Beaver, the hats came out so magnificently that we just had to offered it on our site!

The "Extraordinary" is one of those hats that is so unique that it literally steals the show. In fact, if you watch the movie, you will notice that the hat is worn for a very small amount of time, basically when Sean Connery's character is first introduced, and then he never wears it again. However, it is such a dramatic majestic head-piece that everyone remembers it, and, in fact, it is used as the main focal point in the posters for the movie.

Other hats of this stature have had the same fate. Johnny Depp's fedora from "Public Enemies" is such a hat, as is Kurt Russell's Campaign hat from "The Thing", and Audrey Hepburn's from "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Each hat had only a brief appearance in their respective films, yet had such power, that they have lingered in our memory.
