The
"CLIFFHANGER REDUX" Inspired by the Fedora worn by Harrison
Ford in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the
Crystal Skull"™
Many feel that "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom
of the Crystal Skull" is going to be the last
"Indy" in which Harrison Ford will play
the lead. In fact, George Lucas recently said that
he is thinking of having Harrison come back in "Indy
5", as more of a "Sean Connery" character
(who played his father in "The Last Crusade"),
and perhaps let Shia LeBeouf take over as the new
“Indy”.
Baron
Hats is proud to have made the Cap that Shia
LaBeouf
wears in his
role as "Mutt Williams" in "Crystal
Skull".
Many will view this hat, in comparison with the
"Temple of Doom" hat and wonder what the
difference is. They would be right, in that the
differences are subtle... but they are there! (However,
compare this Fedora with the original "Raiders",
and you will see vast differences).
One of the biggest
differences, is in the crown, which is less boxy
than its predecessors, and has much more of a tampered
shaping. There are also changes in the hatband,
a bit of new brim work, and because of the aging...
obvious slight color changes.
The biggest difference
however is the crown size.
The newest fedora
has, what we like to call a much more "user
friendly" crown, than the last three versions.
The crown is shorter and shaped more traditionally.
The original fedora was based in part on the one
that Humphrey Bogart wore in "Treasure of Sierra
Madre" (if you're ever in Burbank, California,
come by our shop and check out our "Hollywood
Hat Museum", which includes some fascinating
original "Treasure" displays from the
Bogart classic). The original "Treasure"
fedora crown was higher than a traditional one,
and Harrison's version was even higher than that!
Being that Harrison Ford is a tall man, and he played
so brilliantly such a "larger than life"
character, he was able to wear the higher crown
version with distinction! However for us "mortals"
the high crown sometimes became a bit of a problem.
That is why Baron is please to now offer this "Cliffhanger
Redux", inspired by the one worn by Harrison
Ford in "Crystal Skull". I think a great
deal of us Indy lovers will love the look and feel
of this "User Friendly" crown, with its
universal crown size and appeal!
As with all our custom hats, the "Cliffhanger
Redux" comes with our special Lifetime Guarantee,
a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity,
our engraved leather sweatband and custom silk-satin
