Baron Hats is proud of our association with the "Indiana Jones" movies. From our work on Harrison Ford's Fedora, for the "Temple of Doom", (which inspired our "Cliffhanger"), to the cap we crafted for Shia LeBeouf for his character of "Mutt Williams" in the newest "Indy" creation: "The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"™. Because it has been so long between "Last Crusade" and "Crystal Skull", and because Mr. Ford most likely will not return in his most beloved of immortal characters, a great deal of attention has been paid to this movie. That included a staggering amount of attention to every detail, to make sure that this film would be the best of the bunch!

When the costumers came to us, asking for something very unique and special for the character of Mutt Williams (who some people claim could become the new "torch bearer" to the "Indy" franchise), we spent a great deal of time to give them every possibility.

Since the character rode a motorcycle, they had in mind some kind of cap, but were open to any and all suggestions. We had literally hundreds of styles both in the form of photos from our vast production files, and real "live" caps in our store, studio, and inventory warehouse. Many of these caps possess a long history themselves, having been used in classic movies and TV series, worn by rock groups, and seen in commercials and Broadway shows going back almost forty years.

We had also just finished some caps for the George Clooney movie "Leatherheads", which interested them, along with others we crafted for the chic New York company "Barking Iron". However, the one they really seemed to gravitate towards was of our Limited Edition "Rebel Deluxe" which is inspired by the cap worn by Marlon Brando in "The Wild One". They chose about a dozen selections, and brought them to their "top brass". After a few days, they called back to say that they wanted to go with something like our Rebel Deluxe, but with special modifications.

The Rebel Deluxe has a much higher crown and a different blocking to create a "pillowed" look, so we created a new pattern and block, and reworked the visor. In all, with the help of an amazingly talented group of "Indy" costumers, the cap created its own personality, and we've been told that once Shia put it on his head, it "melded" with his character, and they become one! Whether a "melding" actually took place or not, Baron couldn't be prouder of our contribution to this instant American classic sequel!

In honor of this special collaboration, Baron Hats is offering our own version of the cap we crafted for the "Crystal Skull", which we call "The Rebel Sidekick".
